Sponsored by St. James Lutheran Church
Lord Baden Powell conceived of the Scouting program in 1907. In 1910 the Boy Scouts of America was chartered by the US Congress. The program was designed to help young boys grow into productive & prepared citizens. In 2019 the program changed the name to Scouts BSA but the mission has not changed.
St. James Lutheran originally chartered the troop in 1955 as Troop 707. Although there were a few breaks, Troop 747 has been in continuous existence since December of 1986. This troop has helped many boys earn the rank of Eagle (the highest rank in Scouting).
If you are interested in having your son learn life and leadership skills that will prepare him for his future, Troop 747 is for you.
If your boy is in a grade kindergarten through fifth the Cub Scouts is where you start.
